Last updated: Sunday 31st January 2021
Welcome to our temporary page about the Coronavirus crisis. We are continuing to respond to local / national guidance and communicating constantly with the other schools in our MAT. We will use this page to keep you informed of our plans / policies and share the latest information.
School opened to all pupils on Thursday 3rd September - with some additional measures in place. Please read our Parents' Guide for more information and keep yourself up-to-date with the latest advice on 'social distancing' etc. A new National lockdown was announced in January 2021, meaning that we are currently open only to vulnerable children and those of critical workers. For more detail about our remote learning offer during this time, please click here. Schools are set to reopen to more pupils from Monday March 8th at the earliest - we will keep you informed as soon as we know more.
The best way to keep yourself safe is by following the usual procedures for managing illnesses:
- Wash hands using soap and warm water for 20 seconds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9VjeIWLnEg
- Covering your mouth when you cough / sneeze (ideally with a tissue - 'Catch it, bin it, kill it')
- Keep surfaces clean
- Avoid close contact with people who are unwell.
etc.
If you or anyone in your household does develop symptoms, please follow the latest advice on self-isolation (see below).
So far, we have had 3 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in school. These were isolated incidents and unrelated to each other. We dealt with each case swiftly and advised families what action they must take (in conjunction with Public Health). If a positive case affects your child, you will be informed immediately and advised what action you must take (e.g. if we are forced to close a 'bubble'). Thank you for your understanding.
From 25th January 2021, staff are taking part in twice-weekly 'lateral flow testing'. This is designed to identify and isolate anyone who may be carrying the virus whilst asymptomatic and does not replace existing rules. Primary School children will NOT be tested but we may be forced to close a bubble at short notice.
